Biotechnology is an expanding sector providing a range of opportunities for employment. A key shortage exists for skilled scientists who also possess the business skills required for success. This MSc programme will develop both of these areas, delivering you to the forefront of bioscience applications whist building a strong foundation in business practice and development. The programme will be run in partnership with the highly regarded School of Business and Economics at Exeter, benefiting from their knowledge and skills regarding business management and enterprise.

The programme content is specifically designed for Masters level and you can complement your curriculum with modules in business, and will form an ideal grounding for your future career. The programme has a significant research component, which accounts for about half of the programme, as well as professional skills training, and is designed to provide training in areas most relevant for your academic and professional development.

Entry requirements At least a 2:1 Honours degree or equivalent in Biology or relevant subject.

Assessment

Taught modules are assessed through essay examinations, individual and group-based coursework assignments, oral presentations, in-module tests and reports or essays. A significant proportion of the marks are based on a substantial research project and the associated paper submitted in September. Students are made aware of the marking criteria for all major pieces of work.

Funding: Generous School bursaries may be available. The University also offers a Full-Fee Masters Scholarships Scheme.
