The International Master Program (Master of Science, M.Sc.) in Geospatial Technologies is a cooperation of:

* Universitat Jaume I (UJI), Castellón, Dept. Lenguajes y Sistemas Informaticos (LSI), Castellón, Spain.
* Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL), Instituto Superior de Estatística e Gestão de Informação (ISEGI), Lisboa, Portugal,
* selected within the Erasmus Mundus Programme, project reference: 2007-0064/001 FRAME MUNB123.

Awarded joint degree: Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Geospatial Technologies
The three-semester Masters program targets holders of Bachelor degree in application areas of Geographic Information (GI), e.g., environmental planning, regional planning, geography, logistics, transportation, marketing, energy provision, computer science. GI is a rapidly growing market, lacking qualified GI personnel and offering excellent career chances. Therefore, the Masters Program targets life-long learning for graduates and professionals in the fields of geography, surveying, planning, local adminstration, etc., who are willing to acquire additional GI skills for applying them in their respective GI application area.
The European Commission provides
* 8 financial contributions to EU students (in this context nationals from EU Member States and EEA-EFTA countries). The financial contribution includes a support to living costs of 500 € per month (9.000 € in total), coverage of tuition fees of 1.500 € per semester (4.500 € in total), and an insurance package.
* 2 full scholarships to students from the Western Balkans and Turkey Window. Full scholarships include a contribution to travel, installation and all other types of costs (8.000 € in total), monthly allowances of 1.000 € per month (18.000 € in total), coverage of tution fees of 3.500 € per semester (10.500 € in total), and an insurance package.
* 10 full scholarships to third country students (other nationals than EU and Window students above). Full scholarships include a contribution to travel, installation and all other types of costs (8.000 € in total), monthly allowances of 1.000 € per month (18.000 € in total), coverage of tution fees of 3.500 € per semester (10.500 € in total), and an insurance package.
* 4 scholarships for third country scholars (visiting researchers). Scholarships include a lump sum of 14.800 € for supporting all types of costs.

As for the application, first you will have to register as a
# EU student applying for an Erasmus Mundus grant (deadline Apr 30, 2010), or
# Third country student or student from the Western Balkans and Turkey Window (deadline Jan 15, 2010), or
# Third country scholar applying for an Erasmus Mundus grant (deadline Jan 15, 2010), or
# Student NOT applying for an Erasmus Mundus grant (deadline Jul 31, 2010 - an earlier application is recommended especially for applicants from non-European countries due to visa processes).
