India : Scheme for Fellowship to Students of Academic Institutions for carrying Out live Consulting Assignments

Objective
To provide Fellowships to students for carrying out live projects/assignments relating to consultancy associating with CDC and other consultancy firms/agencies leading towards encouraging capacity building and professional development in the field of consulting and to support high quality innovative live consulting projects.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Student with atleast 80% marks in 10+2.
  • Students should be enrolled in engineering/management institutions accredited by AICTE/UGC

Scope

The live consulting projects would be both from engineering and management consulting, aiming towards helping the students in developing skills and competencies on consulting processes, tools, methods, diagnosis and documentation and presentation.

Amount of Fellowship

Each student will be provided a Fellowship of Rs.10000/- (Rupees ten thousand) towards contingency expenditure, to be paid directly by CDC on receipt of the project report

Procedure

a) Invitation of online application on www.cdc.org.in/schemes/fellowship.aspx covering the following:

  • Title of the project
  • Synopsis (in about 100 words) giving the gist of the proposed assignment
  • Approach and methodology to be adopted
  • Time required

b) Scrutiny of the proposals by an internal Committee

c) The evaluation process shall comprise

  • Screening of the applications on the basis of the eligibility criteria.
  • Evaluation of projects screened and shortlisted with respect to the following parameters.
    1. Relevance to consulting
    2. Approach and methodology proposed
    3. Tools, processes to be used
    4. Likely benefits
    5. Usefulness/adaptability

d) Award of the project to top 100 shortlisted students

e) Receipt of the Project Report comprising maximum 40-50 pages in a structured format as follows:

Page 1: Project Title, Company Name, address, contact person’s name, phone, e-mail; Your name, address, phone, and e-mail; Your school’s name, address, contact person, his/her phone, fax, e-mail.
Page 2: Project Title, Company Name
Page 3: Table of Contents
Page 4-5: Executive Summary (maximum 2 pages)

The rest of the project should ideally have the following sections: (it is not necessary to include all of the below.)

Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion and Recommendations Appendices, Bibliography, Glossary

Declaration from the company and the Bonafide certificate from the institution should be attached with the project report.

f) Evaluation of the Report by the Nodal Officer of CDC

g) Award of Fellowship amount

Important Dates:

  • Last date for online registration and submission of synopsis : 7th November 2009
  • Date of final Results: 20th November 2009
  • Date for submitting the final project report: 15days after the completion of project

Last date for receipt of the application is Saturday, 7th November 2009 by 1600 hrs. Applications received after the deadline and without synopsis will not be considered for evaluation
